A stripped-down Peter Parker headlines Marvel’s next chapter while Spider-Man star Zendaya debunks AI-fueled wedding rumors.
The next chapter of Spider-Man has arrived with historic force.
The official trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day debuted on March 18 and quickly became the most viewed trailer in history, amassing 718.6 million views within its first 24 hours.
Introduced by Tom Holland during a livestream from the Empire State Building, the rollout was amplified by a global fan campaign that saw short teaser fragments released across multiple accounts before the full reveal.
Beyond its record-breaking numbers, the trailer signals a tonal reset for the franchise.
Set four years after No Way Home, the film follows a fully isolated Peter Parker, now living anonymously in New York after the world has forgotten his identity. The footage emphasizes a grounded, street-level approach, with Peter operating without technological support or personal connections, navigating crime and instability on his own.

Returning cast members include Holland and Zendaya, who reprises her role as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson. In the trailer, MJ appears to have moved forward with a separate life, underscoring the emotional consequences of Peter’s decision to remain forgotten.

The film’s more intimate and solitary direction arrives alongside a separate wave of attention surrounding Zendaya off-screen.
Days before the trailer’s release, the actress publicly addressed viral images circulating online that appeared to depict her wedding to Holland.
During a television appearance, she clarified that the widely shared photos were artificially generated, noting how their realism led to widespread confusion, including among people within her own personal circle.

The incident highlights the growing impact of AI-generated imagery in celebrity culture, where fabricated moments can rapidly blur into perceived reality.
Zendaya’s response, while direct in dismissing the images, stopped short of addressing ongoing speculation about her personal life, leaving public curiosity largely intact.
That overlap between perception and reality mirrors the narrative direction of Brand New Day, where identity, absence, and reinvention take center stage. The trailer also teases new threats and alliances, including appearances from The Punisher and Scorpion, as well as a developing mystery tied to a series of crimes across the city. Hints of a physical transformation add another layer to Peter’s struggle, suggesting a deeper internal conflict beyond his external battles.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film positions itself as both a continuation and a recalibration, returning Spider-Man to a more grounded setting while expanding the character’s emotional and physical stakes.
With its record-setting debut and the renewed spotlight on its lead stars, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already defining the conversation ahead of its theatrical release on July 31, 2026.
