Following their chart-topping collab "TOYFRIEND," BE:FIRST joins SB19 for a historic finale at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
BE:FIRST is officially confirmed to join the Kings of P-pop, SB19, for their upcoming Wakas at Simula concert, marking a massive cross-border moment for fans of both groups. The Japanese powerhouse will take the stage on April 18, 2026, at the SMDC Festival Grounds for what is being billed as SB19’s biggest concert to date. This live team-up serves as the grand finale to the three-part Simula at Wakas tour, which celebrates the release of their EPs Pagsibol, Pagtatag, and Simula at Wakas.
A Global Chart Breakthrough
The announcement follows the explosive success of their new “clubby R&B” collaboration, “TOYFRIEND,” a standout track from SB19’s sophomore album that has already made a significant breakthrough in Japan. Landing a No. 2 peak on the Oricon Digital Chart and hitting No. 1 on MORA’s All Genre and Hi-Res charts, the track proves the immense synergy between these two Asian pop titans. Beyond the infectious rhythm and polished production, the song dives into the messy, confusing world of “situationships”. JOSH explained that the track captures the uncertainty of having feelings for someone while being unsure if they will be reciprocated, effectively leaving one person as a “toyfriend” caught between friendship and something more.
From Fan Demand to the Global Stage
PABLO shared that the sound carried a distinct energy from the start, leaning into an “edgy, slightly spicy, and sexy tone” that fans are already obsessing over. The collaboration was born from organic fan demand after KEN performed as FELIP at the DUNK music showcase in Japan last year, which caught the attention of the BMSG team. Despite the geographical distance, SB19 ensured a unified sound by having their team provide guidance during BE:FIRST’s recording sessions in Japan, resulting in a cohesive anthem that champions the growing influence of Asian pop on the global stage.
