Janella, Klea, Jasmine, Leanne Bring ‘Open Endings’ Nationwide

Distributed by CreaZion Studios, the acclaimed queer coming-of-age film expands to cinemas nationwide this June.

One of this generation’s most talked-about modern coming-of-age stories is finally reaching a wider audience.

Following its acclaimed festival run, Open Endings is set for a nationwide theatrical release on June 10, bringing its emotionally grounded story of friendship, love, and growing up to more Filipino viewers nationwide.

Distributed by CreaZion Studios, the release adds to the studio’s growing slate of youth-driven and socially resonant projects that spotlight emerging voices and filmmaker-led storytelling.

Directed by Nigel Santos, the film stars Janella Salvador, Klea Pineda, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Leanne Mamonong.

Initially embraced within queer and indie film circles, Open Endings steadily gained momentum through word-of-mouth, festival screenings, and online discussions surrounding its honest and nuanced portrayal of relationships, identity, and chosen family.

The film follows four women who all dated each other at different points in their lives before eventually forming an unbreakable “ride-or-die” friendship. Their bond is later tested when one of them makes a life-changing decision that could alter their relationships forever.

Beyond its local reception, Open Endings has also begun building an international presence. The film premiered internationally at the Wicked Queer on April 6 and was later selected for the Queer East Festival in London on May 23.

Following its festival run, the film also competed in the Asian Next Wave section of the QCinema International Film Festival, further cementing its growing recognition within contemporary Philippine cinema.
