From the traction it has been receiving of her live performance, Janine Berdin’s music is finding a new wave of listeners.
There are songs people casually stream, and then there are songs people immediately quote online after one listen. Lately, that song has been “What If I Miss You for the Rest of My Life?” by Janine Berdin.
Originally released as part of her 2025 debut album LAB SONGS NG MGA TANGA, the track has recently gained renewed attention following Berdin’s live performance on the Wish Bus, where clips of the song began circulating across social media.
The performance eventually reached international artists, including Demi Lovato, who reacted to the clip on Instagram with a brief but enthusiastic comment.
For many listeners, though, the attention surrounding the song did not arrive out of nowhere.
Since releasing LAB SONGS NG MGA TANGA in September 2025, Berdin has continued building a music identity rooted in emotionally direct songwriting and alternative-leaning OPM. The album, her first full-length release after years in the industry, revolves around themes of heartbreak, attachment, toxic relationships, and emotional aftermath.
Tracks like “HAYUP KA” and “SITWASYONSHIP” already established the album’s tone upon release, but “What If I Miss You for the Rest of My Life?” has slowly become one of the project’s standout songs among listeners online. Its title alone has repeatedly appeared in playlists, reposts, and discussion threads centered on emotionally heavy OPM tracks.
Part of the song’s traction also comes from how stripped-back the performance feels. Rather than relying on heavy production, the live version places focus almost entirely on Berdin’s vocals and songwriting, allowing the lyrics and delivery to carry the performance.
The renewed attention also highlights how Berdin’s career has evolved in recent years. After initially gaining recognition through television singing competitions, she has gradually shifted toward building a more defined identity as a singer-songwriter under Island Records Philippines.
Now, with her craft reaching new miles and more listeners revisiting LAB SONGS NG MGA TANGA, Berdin’s latest viral moment feels closely tied to the direction she has been building toward all along.
