SB19, BINI, Lea Salonga join star-studded ‘Forgotten Island’ soundtrack

Big names in Filipino music are lending their voices to DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming fantasy adventure inspired by Philippine mythology.

Filipino music is taking center stage in Forgotten Island. The upcoming DreamWorks Animation film has unveiled a soundtrack packed with Filipino talent, featuring SB19, BINI, Lea Salonga, H.E.R., Sophia Laforteza of KATSEYE, and Ruby Ibarra, among others.

The announcement further cements Forgotten Island as one of the most Filipino-forward projects to come out of a major Hollywood animation studio. The film, rooted in Philippine mythology, follows best friends Jo and Raissa as they find themselves navigating a magical world filled with shapeshifters, demons, witches, and other fantastical creatures.

Among the soundtrack’s original contributions is a brand-new BINI song titled “A Parallel World,” produced by Nathan Matthew David and Shawn Wasabi. The track reportedly builds upon themes of friendship central to the film’s story.

Sophia Laforteza, meanwhile, lends her voice to a reimagined version of the INXS classic “Never Tear Us Apart,”which will accompany a key emotional moment in the film. Lea Salonga and H.E.R., who are also part of the movie’s voice cast, likewise contribute to the soundtrack.

The soundtrack reveal arrives months after DreamWorks announced a voice cast led by H.E.R., Lea Salonga, Liza Soberano, and Manny Jacinto. Directed by Januel Mercado, Forgotten Island has drawn attention for placing Filipino stories, folklore, and talent at the forefront of a global animated feature.

With OPM excellence dominating the project’s soundtrack run, Forgotten Island is shaping up to be becoming one of the largest showcases of Filipino music attached to a global film release in recent memory.
