It’s official: Dolly de Leon joins the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender in the newly released second season of Netflix’s live-action adaptation.

Serving as Princess Azula’s firebending mentors in the Fire Nation, the Golden Globe nominee and Filipina acting powerhouse portrays twins Lo and Li. De Leon described the live-action versions of the characters as unique to their animated counterparts.

The veteran actress shared that she was excited to play twin roles for the first time, saying it was “the best fun in a creative process.” Filipino viewers were quick to celebrate her appearance, with one fan joking: “What’s better than THE Dolly de Leon? [Two] Dolly de Leons!”

Since her breakthrough performance in Triangle of Sadness, de Leon has continued to build an impressive list of international projects. Alongside her role in Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2,  the acting icon was also recently announced as part of the voice cast of DreamWorks’ upcoming Filipino-inspired animated film, Forgotten Island.
