Taneo Sebastian has already played different versions of himself as ALAMAT’s leader, a performer, and venturing supportive roles finding his footing across film and series. Now, he is stepping into a world that feels markedly removed from the polished rhythms of P-pop.

The ALAMAT member is set to lead Hum, the debut feature of filmmaker Don Josephus Raphael Eblahan, where he plays Toma, a young cowboy. 

Eblahan’s films often move through trauma, spirituality, nature, Indigenous identities, and the lingering effects of living in a post-colonial Philippines. His short The Headhunter’s Daughter won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, while Vox Humana screened internationally and continued his interest in strange, atmospheric stories where the natural world and human experience seem inseparable.

For Taneo, that puts his first lead role in a film far removed from the conventional expectations surrounding a P-pop idol-turned-actor. He has previously appeared in Expensive Candy, Marita, and Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko, alongside his work with ALAMAT. Hum, however, gives him a more demanding space to inhabit a character with his own struggles, motivations, and inner life.
