Gian completes the squad with JM, Emilio, and Elijah in upcoming One For The Road

Bernardino joins Elijah Canlas, Emilio Daez, and JM Ibarra in the upcoming film about friends about growing pains, grief, and moving forward.

The barkada is complete, but the road ahead will take more than just four friends and a car.

Cup of Joe’s vocalist and rising star Gian Bernardino has officially joined One For The Road as its fourth and final lead, completing a young ensemble that includes Elijah Canlas, Emilio Daez, and JM Ibarra.

Directed by Kip Oebanda, the upcoming film follows four working-class friends who set off on a spontaneous road trip that gradually becomes something much bigger.

It features men in different walks of life— a barista, a startup actor, and a bank employee. What begins as an escape turns into a journey through the messier parts of growing up.

One For The Road brings its four leads together at a point in their lives where friendship starts to look different. The film explores grief, mental health, and the pressures of adulthood alongside the lighter, more familiar chaos that comes with spending time with your closest friends.

The quartet is a whole new set of characters, giving them more space to play with than the usual road-trip comedy. Their chemistry will have to carry the fun, but the story also asks them to inhabit young men dealing with experiences that can change how they see themselves, each other, and the lives they are trying to build.

For Canlas, Daez, Ibarra, and now Bernardino, the film becomes an opportunity to portray a friendship shaped by the awkward space between who you were and who you are becoming. The road trip gives them somewhere to go, but the real journey is figuring out what they are carrying with them.

Bernardino’s addition completes the four-person ensemble that Regal first introduced with Canlas, Daez, and Ibarra. With Oebanda at the helm alongside promising filmmaker Victor Villanueva, the film looks set to use that dynamic for a story that understands how friendships can become a kind of anchor when everything else starts changing.

One For The Road is coming soon to cinemas.
