Ashtine and David Lead a New Barkada in ‘Fight for My Way’ PH Adaptation

The Filipino adaptation brings David Licauco, Ashtine Olviga, McCoy de Leon, and Aubrey Caraan together as four friends chasing dreams, love, and second chances.

David Licauco and Ashtine Olviga are stepping into the world of Fight for My Way, but they won’t be navigating it alone. The pair headline the Filipino adaptation of the 2017 K-drama, joined by McCoy de Leon and Aubrey Caraan as the four friends as its primary characters.

David plays Hanz, a former taekwondo prodigy who now works in pest control while trying to return to his dream of becoming a professional fighter. Ashtine plays Aira, his longtime best friend who hopes to become a television announcer. Their characters mirror Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won’s roles in the original series.

McCoy plays Manny, the practical member of their barkada, while Aubrey plays Sally, Aira and Hanz’s dependable friend and Manny’s longtime partner. Together, they make up the “Crazy Fantastic Four,” bringing the friendship-driven heart of the original into the Filipino adaptation.

The upcoming adaptation revolves around four friends trying to figure out what comes next. Hanz and Aira push each other to chase the dreams they had put on hold, while Manny and Sally navigate their own relationship and the realities that come with growing up.

Directed by Crisanto B. Aquino, the four stars are sharing the screen for the first time in this lineup, bringing a new barkada into a story about finding your way back to the things you still want. Aquino was also the director behind ‘Seducing Drake Palma’ and ‘Dating Alys Perez.’

Fight For My Way premieres November 20 and marks Viva One’s first Korean series adaptation.
