BTS Reunion Locked In as New Album Arrives on March 2026

It has been a long wait, but BTS is finally saying hello again.

After nearly four years away from group releases, the global K-pop supergroup has confirmed that a new album will arrive on March 20, 2026. The release marks BTS’ first full studio album since 2020’s Be and their first group project following a four-year hiatus.

The announcement was first teased through handwritten notes sent to select members of their fandom, BTS ARMY, ahead of the New Year. Each note featured the date “2026.3.20,” subtly confirming the group’s return before Big Hit Music officially announced the comeback.

Several members also shared messages with fans following the reveal. The group’s leader, RM, wrote that the group had been waiting earnestly for this moment while Jimin described 2026 as the year they had been all anticipating. V added that BTS is looking forward to making new memories with fans as they reunite as seven.

Shortly after the confirmation, a new official countdown website was launched, marking the days leading up to the March 20 release. The site adds to the buildup around the reunion and signals the start of the group’s official comeback rollout.

BTS paused group activities in 2022 to fulfill South Korea’s mandatory military service. During this period, the members focused on individual projects while preparing for their eventual return as a group.

Following the completion of their service, BTS reunited in the studio in mid-2025 to begin work on their upcoming album. According to the members, the project reflects each person’s ideas and perspectives and is being approached with the same mindset they had when they first started as a group.

In addition to the album release, BTS has also confirmed plans for a world tour, marking their first time performing together onstage in years.

The March 2026 comeback officially signals BTS’ return as a complete group, opening a new chapter after years of paused group activities.
