ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon Carries the Olympic Flame in Milan, and It Feels Full Circle

From figure skating prodigy to global K-pop star, Sunghoon’s Milano Cortina 2026 torch relay moment hits right in the feels....

On February 5, ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon took part in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics torch relay in Milan, carrying the flame through the streets near Bolivar Station during the relay’s 60th and final stage.

For someone who once trained on ice for nearly a decade, this was a true full-circle moment. Sunghoon called it a dream come true, stepping onto the Olympic stage this time as a singer, not an athlete.

Sunghoon also shared a sweet “torch kiss” with Italian Paralympian Simone Barlaam, instantly winning hearts online.

Before debuting with ENHYPEN, Sunghoon competed as a figure skater, serving on South Korea’s national reserve team and earning medals at international events like the Asian Figure Skating Trophy. Since May 2025, he has also been a promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, helping connect pop culture with sports.

A day before his run, Sunghoon arrived in Milan alongside the South Korean national figure skating team, including former peer Cha Jun-hwan.

He carried the flame for around 20 minutes, longer than average, with crowds trailing behind him through the city. Even more symbolic, his segment happened just 24 hours before the opening ceremony at San Siro Stadium.

With this appearance, Sunghoon became only the second K-pop artist to take part in an overseas Olympic torch relay, following BTS’ Jin.

From ice rinks to Olympic fire, Sunghoon’s Milan moment proves that dreams evolve. And sometimes, they glow even brighter.
