GAT is entering its certified lover-boy era with their latest single, “Mine,” and honestly, it feels like the perfect addition to our growing Second Lead Syndrome lores. 

Released on August 28, the romantic track sees the five-member P-pop act Ethan, Charles, Derrick, Michael, and Hans leaning into a more mature and charming concept as they sing about wanting to call that special someone their own.

Produced by award-winning hitmaker Thyro Alfaro, “Mine” plays with different terms of endearment from “baby,” “sweet,” and “honey” to the Filipino and Visayan terms “palangga” and “hinigugma.” The song captures that unmistakable feeling of wanting to turn a special connection into something more.

But for fans of the popular Second Lead Syndrome arcs, it’s the song’s romantic premise that hits a little differently. It sounds like the kind of track that belongs in a scene where the second lead finally gathers enough courage to confess or where two people who have been circling around their feelings finally realize they might want the same thing.

With the newly released song, GAT is giving us plenty of material for those fictional scenarios we inevitably create in our head because there are times when the second lead just needs one good song to make the delulu lore stronger. Because if there’s one thing “Mine” is giving, it’s that the second lead finally gets his moment. 

“Mine” follows GAT’s previous 2026 release, “Kapag Ngumingiti Ka,” while continuing the momentum from their earlier appearances on the Ang Mutya Ng Section E soundtrack through “Daleng-Dale” and hit “Kembot.”
