The blackened teeth are back, the vintage looks are in, and the barkada is ready to make some noise. VIVA Films has unveiled the first looks for its Philippine adaptation of Pee Mak production, giving us a look on how the cast are once again breathing life into the iconic horror-comedy film. 

The first teasers also give fans a glimpse of Ross and Binene’s on-screen family, including their baby, through an old-school family portrait that leans into the film’s period setting.

The original’s comedy thrives on Mak’s four friends, whose attempts to protect him from the truth about his wife become increasingly frantic and increasingly ridiculous. The Filipino adaptation brings together a mix of familiar comedic faces and a new actor making his feature debut.

Vandolph Quizon joins the group with the comedic pedigree that feels right at home in a story built around physical gags and escalating panic.

For Gian Bernardino, the film marks a new chapter away from music. The Cup of Joe vocalist makes his feature-film acting debut as one of Mak’s comrades, trading his usual stage presence for a curly perm, round glasses, period military styling, and the unmistakable Pee Mak teeth.

Jairus Aquino and TJ Valderrama complete the quartet, rounding out the group of friends

Ross takes on the titular role, while Binene plays his devoted wife in a story that finds a soldier returning home from war, only for his friends to realize that something isn’t quite right about the family waiting for him.
