From charting songs to a viral Shanghai moment, the Cebuana singer-songwriter is discovering an unexpected new audience for her music in China.
Jolianne’s enticing harmonies just crossed borders. The Cebuana singer-songwriter has recently caught the attention of Chinese listeners after her music began gaining traction in the country, followed by a viral moment in Shanghai and her first music festival appearance in China. She performed OPM for a crowd in Hangzhou, giving her growing audience there a chance to see the Filipino singer behind the songs they had been discovering online.

The momentum comes after her music found its way onto charts in China, adding another chapter to what has already been a breakthrough year for the singer. At home, Jolianne has also been building momentum with “Palayo Sa Mundo.” The song became her first entry on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, debuting at No. 100 before climbing to No. 48.
The track has continued to travel well beyond its original release. By late September, “Palayo Sa Mundo” was still appearing among YouTube’s most-streamed songs in the Philippines, showing the staying power of the collaboration nearly a year after its October 2025 release.
Jolianne isn’t arriving in China with a massive promotional machine behind her. In a series of posts across her platforms, Jolianne has expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to step to the stage and has explained as to why she got invited.

“For those of u who are confused why I’m here, my English music charted in China this year!,” she shared. She also revealed that she had already gone on her first China tour a few months ago. During that trip, a video of a street photographer taking her photos went viral and reportedly became the top video in Shanghai.
Her recent China appearances also arrive as Jolianne continues establishing herself within the wider OPM landscape.
