Kai Montinola is lending her voice to the Filipino rendition of “How Far I’ll Go” for the Philippine release of Disney’s live-action adaptation of Moana.

Titled “Hangganan Ko,” the localized version of the film’s signature anthem will be released on July 3, ahead of Moana’s Philippine premiere on July 8. An official music video will accompany the release as part of Disney’s promotional campaign.

The live-action adaptation stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana, retelling the beloved Disney story of the young wayfinder who embarks on a daring voyage beyond the shores of Motunui to save her people.

Following her breakout stint on Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11, Montinola has steadily expanded her portfolio across music, television, and film. Since releasing her debut EP Kaileidoscope, she has appeared in Saving Grace and is also part of the 2025 Cinemalaya entry Child No. 82.

In introducing Montinola as the Filipino voice behind the song, Disney described her as someone who embodies the grit, warmth, and determination of young Filipinos. 

The original version of “How Far I’ll Go,” performed by Auliʻi Cravalho, won Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
