P-Pop’s prides KAIA, HORI7ON, and 1st.One pulls a major sonic crossover with reflecting a scene increasingly built on solidarity.
For years, P-pop’s growth has often been framed through rivalry: chart placements, fandom metrics, streaming battles, and the constant race to become the genre’s “next big thing.” Sulong moves in the opposite direction.
The collaborative single brings together KAIA, HORI7ON, and 1st.One under Project P-Pop: Rising, merging three groups with distinct trajectories into one track rooted in collective momentum rather than individual branding.
First unveiled during the 2026 ROUND Festival at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the release arrives as the local idol scene continues negotiating what sustainability and community can look like in an increasingly crowded landscape.
What makes Sulong notable is not simply the scale of the crossover, but what it represents for the culture surrounding P-pop itself. Cross-group collaborations of this kind remain relatively uncommon within the industry, where groups are often positioned against one another by both market structures and online fan behavior. Here, however, the emphasis shifts toward mutual visibility, an acknowledgment that the genre’s expansion may depend as much on shared ecosystems as it does on singular breakout acts.
The pairing also reflects the different directions P-pop currently occupies. KAIA continues refining a distinctly youth-oriented and performance-driven identity, HORI7ON operates within the intersection of Philippine and Korean pop systems, while 1st.One maintains a quieter but consistent presence through live stages and performance-focused releases. Together, “Sulong” feels less like a novelty collaboration and more like a snapshot of a genre learning how to move collectively without flattening individual identities.
