PBB alum and Rosario star Lance Carr has opened up about his recent injury days, calling it every basketball player’s “worst nightmare.” 

Carr sustained the ACL injury while playing for Team Viva One during the inaugural VIVA All Star Games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 16. The actor and basketball player was injured less than two minutes into the game after attempting a shot and was subsequently taken to the hospital.

Following the incident, Carr took to social media to share his thoughts on the setback and the questions that immediately crossed his mind.

“Every basketball player’s worst nightmare would probably be a Torn ACL,” Carr wrote. “Will I ever play the same again? Will my passion for the sport that I loved since I was 4 years old change? Will I ever play again?”

Carr revealed that he suffered a complete ACL tear, with reports also noting an MCL injury. Despite the seriousness of the setback, he remains determined to return to the sport he has loved since childhood.

The injury also came at an emotional moment for Carr and his teammates. He apologized to Team Viva One, saying they had prepared and dreamed of winning the inaugural All Star Games together.

Despite the disappointment, Carr said he is staying positive and looking forward to the recovery process.

“I know that this is gonna be a tough journey but I will do everything to get back on track and be better than I once was,” he shared.

He also addressed fans who had traveled to watch him and his teammates play, promising that he would return once he was cleared to compete again.

“Pasensya po talaga and I promise you guys babawi ako once I’m clear to play again.”

Messages of support have since poured in from Carr’s friends, teammates, and fellow artists. 

Carr’s on-screen partner Aubrey Caraan also sent him words of encouragement, while Joseph Marco reminded him to take the recovery one day at a time and assured him that he would come back stronger.

For now, Carr is stepping away from the court to focus on healing. But despite facing one of the most difficult setbacks of his basketball journey, his message remains clear: he plans to come back stronger.
