Lily Collins to Play Audrey Hepburn in New ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’  Film

The Emily in Paris star has been tapped to portray the Hollywood icon in a long-in-the-works movie about the making of the 1961 classic.

Hollywood’s nostalgia wave is meeting contemporary star power. Lily Collins has been officially casted as Audrey Hepburn in an upcoming film that will explore the behind-the-scenes story of the beloved romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The project, based on the New York Times–bestselling book Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman by Sam Wasson, chronicles the making of the iconic 1961 movie and its cultural impact.

Collins, best known for her lead role in Netflix’s hit series Emily in Paris, shared the news on her Instagram earlier this week, describing her casting as the culmination of nearly a decade of development and a personal dream.

“It’s with almost 10 years of development and a lifetime of admiration and adoration for Audrey that I’m finally able to share this. Honored and ecstatic don’t begin to express how I feel…” Collins posted a photo of Hepburn and shared the news through her Instagram post, officially hard launching her newest project.

While key production roles like director have not yet been announced, the film promises to dramatize early challenges, including casting debates and studio decisions during the original production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Fans have long noted Collins’ admiration for Hepburn, with many pointing to her fashion-forward social media posts and past Vogue appearances channeling the late star’s elegance.

Now, she moves from homage to embodiment and stepping into one of Hollywood’s most iconic personas. Hepburn’s original performance as Holly Golightly earned critical acclaim, and the new film seeks to illuminate both that legacy and the creative forces behind it.
