Liza Soberano Lands Another International Project With The Moons of LA

Following her role in DreamWorks’ Forgotten Island, Liza Soberano adds another international credit to her growing Hollywood résumé with Audible’s upcoming comedy audio series.

It’s a new win for Liza Soberano following her stint in Forgotten Island as she lands a new role for The Moons of LA.

Fresh from voicing Raissa in DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island, the Filipina actress is joining the cast of Audible’s upcoming comedy audio series The Moons of LA, premiering exclusively on October 8.

Exclusively released on Audible this October 8, the audio series follows a girl named Chloe who has a love for true-crime podcasts. Because of this, she then sets on to a quest of saving the failing marriage of her parents.

Played by Alyssa Abiera, the coming-of-age comedy audio series, grapples with themes of family, marriage, and ultimately, navigating the in-betweens of growing up.

Soberano’s specific role has yet to be revealed, but her casting marks another step in the Hollywood career she has been building since moving to Los Angeles.

It also follows Forgotten Island, where she voiced Raissa in DreamWorks’ animated film inspired by Filipino folklore and mythology. The film featured a cast of Filipino and Asian talent including Lea Salonga, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, and Soberano alongside H.E.R. and other international performers.

While The Moons of LA moves away from Filipino folklore and into a contemporary coming-of-age story, Soberano’s involvement continues a bigger trend: Filipino talent finding space in international productions across different genres and formats.

The star-studded casting: Ken Jeong, Randall Park, and John Cho to name a few, has not only built anticipation from fans, but has also opened a new genre of entertainment through the said audio series.

From bringing Filipino mythology to a global audience in Forgotten Island to joining an international ensemble in The Moons of LA, Soberano is continuing to carve out a place for Filipino talent in Hollywood, one project at a time.
