Korean streetwear just found a new home in Manila and it’s already the moment.
8Seconds, one of South Korea’s biggest fashion brands, officially opened its first flagship store at SM Mall of Asia last July 9, and the hype was unreal.

The launch drew a massive audience, with fans lining up hours in advance for a chance to see ENHYPEN’s Sunoo, the brand’s global ambassador, who flew in from Korea for the occasion. The program began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by the official store opening and a mini fashion show featuring pieces from the collection. Guests were then invited to explore the space and browse the latest styles firsthand.
The launch also welcomed a lineup of standout personalities from the local entertainment scene. Michelle Dee, Kira Balinger, and Jameson Blake all turned heads with their standout looks, while Gen Z it-couple Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay drew cheers as they arrived together in style. P-pop groups VXON and HORI7ON also showed out and amped up the energy, proudly repping the growing crossover between Korean and Filipino pop culture.
Bringing its signature cool and contemporary aesthetic, 8Seconds is setting up shop as the newest go-to for fashion forward Filipinos. Owned by Samsung C&T, the brand has established a strong presence in Korea’s fast-fashion scene, offering trend-driven pieces at affordable
prices. Since launching in 2012, it’s been known for pushing out new drops weekly, staying ahead of the curve while keeping things wearable and smart.
“From the very beginning, 8Seconds was never content with remaining solely in the Korean market,” said Joon-Seo Lee, CEO of Samsung C&T’s fashion group. “With a strong ambition to expand globally, the brand has always had a sense for the international stage.”
From oversized fits and graphic tees to sleek office wear and everyday essentials, 8Seconds offers pieces that make you want to refresh your wardrobe and show it off with confidence.
But this store marks more than a typical retail opening in Manila. It’s 8Seconds’ first international flagship, a major milestone that signals the growing reach of Korean fashion and its influence on youth culture around the world. With additional branches already planned for Bonifacio Global City and Robinsons Manila, it’s clear the brand sees the Philippines not merely as a market, but as a cultural hotspot ready to lead the next wave of style.

Opening in the Philippines means tapping into a generation that already lives and breathes Hallyu. From music to skincare, Korean culture has long shaped Filipino tastes—but until now, fashion has largely remained online or overseas. 8Seconds brings it closer to home, making it easier than ever for local fans to express themselves through a style they’ve admired from afar.
And this isn’t just about clothes. It’s about a brand that understands how a lot of young Filipinos want to dress: smart but laid-back, global yet personal, polished without losing individuality.
Whether you’re a certified K-style stan or just someone looking for pieces that get it, 8Seconds is now the place to be. It’s time to pull up to MOA, cop your new fave fit, and step out like you’re walking the streets of Hongdae.
