Filipino singer Matty Juniosa earns Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent, sending him to live semi-finals.
Matty Juniosa earned one of the biggest breakthroughs of his career on Britain’s Got Talent after receiving the Golden Buzzer in 2026.
His performance of “Purple Rain” started with a controlled, stripped-down delivery before building into a full vocal climax that brought the audience to a standing ovation.
Judge Simon Cowell immediately pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending Juniosa straight to the live semi-finals and bypassing the remaining elimination rounds.
Before his international breakthrough, Juniosa first gained national attention as a finalist on Idol Philippines, where he finished in the Top 12 during the show’s debut season.
He later formed the vocal group iDolls with fellow contestants Lucas Garcia and Enzo Almario, gaining visibility through performances and original music before the group eventually disbanded in 2022.
Seeking further growth, he moved to Glasgow, Scotland to study Musical Theater at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, while working part-time and continuing to perform.
His UK stage experience includes musical theatre roles in productions such as Kinky Boots and Oscar At The Crown, marking his transition from reality competition contestant to trained stage performer.
The Golden Buzzer moment now positions him as one of the standout Filipino acts of the season, with a direct path into the competition’s live shows
