Exactly 20 years after Hannah Montana first premiered on the Disney Channel, Miley Cyrus is bringing back her iconic alter ego in the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special”, streaming March 24, 2026 exclusively on Disney+.

According to the press release, the special will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and will feature an exclusive interview with Miley, hosted by Alex Cooper. The conversation promises an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most memorable characters and the show’s lasting impact on fans worldwide.

Fans can expect never-before-seen archival footage, along with some of the series’ most iconic sets brought back to life—including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana rotating closet. Teasers also hint that some familiar musical notes from the original series may return, giving viewers a glimpse of the songs that helped define a generation.

“Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am,” said Miley Cyrus. “What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”

The special is produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions, with Ashley Edens as showrunner. Miley Cyrus, her mother Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper, and Matt Kaplan serve as executive producers, ensuring the event captures both nostalgia and fresh perspectives.

Hannah Montana became a global phenomenon, reshaping kids’ television, influencing music and fashion, and launching a generation-defining pop star. The EmmyⓇ-nominated series generated 14 platinum and 18 gold albums worldwide, as well as two feature films. According to Disney, the Hannah Montana catalog has already amassed over half a billion hours streamed globally on Disney+.

To get ready for the anniversary, Disney+ will host a non-stop Hannah Montana Stream starting February 19, 2026, featuring all four seasons, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert.
