For years, Filipino audiences have grown accustomed to seeing the same actors share the screen again and again. Today, however, Nadine Lustre believes one of the industry’s biggest strengths is its growing willingness to embrace change.

Speaking with ZEEN, the actress reflected on how Philippine entertainment has become more open to fresh collaborations, giving artists the opportunity to explore different on-screen dynamics rather than remaining tied to a single screen partner.

“I honestly like that everyone is more collaborative now,” Lustre says to ZEEN.

“And that we’re not really limited to working with the same person. Parang ibang flavor naman siya, it’s not so repetitive,” she added. 

Her comments come as casting across local film and television continues to evolve. While established pairings remain a major part of Philippine entertainment, more actors have begun taking on projects with different co-stars, allowing audiences to experience new chemistry and genres that might not have been possible within traditional casting formulas.

For performers, that shift also opens more creative possibilities.
