Record-Breaking Run: Gwyn Dorado Places Second Off of 4 Sing Again Finalists

Filipino singer-songwriter Gwyn Dorado made history after finishing second place on Sing Again Season 4, falling 48 points behind Lee Oh Wook.

At just 21 years old, Dorado stood out as the lone foreign competitor to make it to the finals among 81 contestants, ultimately securing a spot in the finale and earning one of the highest honors of the season.

Her journey on the show was marked by record-breaking moments. Dorado set a milestone after receiving nearly perfect scores from all judges, 799 out of 800, earning seven perfect 100s from the judges and the highest in the show’s history. Competing against seasoned Korean artists, she consistently impressed both judges and viewers with her control, storytelling, and stage presence.

Sing Again is a music audition program that features singers whose careers may have stalled or gone unnoticed, offering them a chance to “sing again” in front of a national audience. The fourth season premiered in October last year and quickly became a platform for standout performances, with Dorado emerging as one of its most memorable contestants.

Long before her success in Korea, Dorado had already built a strong foundation as a performer. Her first major international stage was Asia’s Got Talent in 2015, followed by a role as orphan July in the musical Annie in 2016. In February 2024, she signed a five-year contract with South Korean agency A.O Entertainment.

With her historic second place finish, Gwyn Dorado continues to prove that Filipino talent can compete and shine on the global stage.
