As My Husband Is a Mafia Boss reaches its Season 1 finale, Rhenseph’s duet turns a familiar soundtrack into a more intimate lookback.
Some songs become attached to a show long before you realize how much they have become part of its story.
For My Husband Is a Mafia Boss, Rob Deniel’s “Star Song” has lived in the background of Aemie Romero and Ezekiel Roswell’s romance since the series began. Now, as the Viva One original heads into its Season 1 finale, Rhen Escaño and Joseph Marco are putting their own voices to the song.

Rob Deniel’s original was released as part of the My Husband Is a Mafia Boss soundtrack in April but there is something particularly fitting about hearing Escaño and Marco sing it together, changing the feeling and taking on a song that audiences already associate with them.
For a series built around the unlikely pairing of an optimistic college student and a guarded mafia boss, “Star Song” has always carried the more intimate, softer arc of Dong and Wife. The new duet simply moves that feeling from the characters to the actors who made them memorable.
My Husband Is a Mafia Boss premiered on Viva One in April, following Aemie as she finds herself married to Zeke and gradually pulled into his dangerous world. Over its run, Aemie and Zeke’s relationship has moved far beyond the initial surprise of their marriage. Their story has accumulated misunderstandings, danger, family conflict, and the quieter moments that make the romance work underneath all the chaos.

The fandom has already seen the two bring that chemistry to the screen and to live appearances. In Rhen and Joseph’s voices, it becomes part of Rhenseph’s, too, a small musical keepsake from a season that fans will soon have to leave behind.
