SpongeBob Movie Brings Bikini Bottom Fun and Adventure to PH Advance Screening

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants made a splash in Manila as it held its Philippine advance screening at SM Megamall last January 10. The event gathered families, kids, and moviegoers for a lively afternoon inspired by the world of Bikini Bottom.

Hosted by SM Cinema, Paramount Pictures, and Monster RX93.1, the screening kicked off with pre-movie activities designed especially for young guests. Kids joined interactive games and received SpongeBob merchandise as prizes, setting the fun ahead of the film.

The venue quickly filled with families and young fans, many of whom arrived in SpongeBob-inspired outfits. Bright colors, character-themed looks, and excited chatter added to the festive atmosphere even before the screening began.

Content creator families and kid-focused creators attended the event, along with young audiences who came to enjoy the movie together. Child star and content creator Sarina Hilario was also present at the screening, drawing attention from fans and fellow attendees.

The fourth theatrical release in the SpongeBob SquarePants movie series, Search for SquarePants follows SpongeBob as he embarks on a new adventure to prove his bravery. The story brings back familiar characters such as Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, and Mr. Krabs, with the Flying Dutchman joining the journey, voiced by Mark Hamill.

Featuring CGI animation and the return of the original voice cast including Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, and Clancy Brown, the film delivers fast-paced comedy and colorful visuals suited for younger viewers.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants opens in Philippine cinemas on January 14, 2026, and is rated PG, making it a family-friendly option for kids and parents alike.
