Filipino fans will have another chance to experience the music of Studio Ghibli live with added show times in August.
Organizers have announced a fifth Manila show for the highly anticipated Studio Ghibli Original Singers Symphony: Songs and Stories of Ghibli following strong demand from fans eager to experience the music behind some of Studio Ghibli’s most beloved films.
The newly added performance is scheduled for August 24 at The Theatre at Solaire. The expansion comes after previously announced dates quickly drew attention from anime enthusiasts, film lovers, and longtime Studio Ghibli fans. What was initially planned as a limited engagement has now grown into a five-show Manila run, reflecting the enduring popularity of the Japanese animation studio in the Philippines.

Unlike traditional orchestral concerts, Songs and Stories of Ghibli brings together original singers associated with Studio Ghibli’s iconic soundtracks, offering audiences a rare opportunity to hear these songs performed live. The program is expected to feature music from beloved titles such as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and other Ghibli classics.
For many viewers, Studio Ghibli’s films are inseparable from their music. The studio’s sweeping scores and emotional melodies—many composed by longtime collaborator Joe Hisaishi—have become as recognizable as the films themselves, helping define generations of moviegoers’ childhoods.
Founded by acclaimed filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, Studio Ghibli has built a global reputation for its visually rich storytelling and unforgettable worlds. Decades after their release, films such as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and My Neighbor Totoro continue to attract new audiences while remaining cherished by longtime fans.
With five Manila performances now scheduled, Filipino audiences will have even more chances to step back into the worlds of Totoro, Chihiro, and countless other Ghibli favorites through the music that made them unforgettable.
