TRY LIVING AN ANALOG LIFE EVERY FRIDAY THIS SEPTEMBER

From journaling to origami, here’s how to spend your Friday getting crafty and off-screen.

After a week of screens, deadlines, and endless scrolling, Friday can be a good time to do something that requires your hands instead of your keyboard.

Fully Booked is bringing back Analog Fridays, a series of craft sessions happening every Friday from September 11 to October 9 at Hub A on the third floor of its High Street branch. Kits and materials will be available for different activities, giving visitors plenty of ways to spend an evening offline.

Here are five things you can do at Analog Fridays.

  1. Fill a Few Pages

Bring out the journal and let your thoughts take up some physical space. Whether it’s a brain dump after a long week, a few pages about your day, or something more structured, journaling gives you an excuse to slow down and write without a screen in sight.

  1. Get Into Scrapbooking

Turn random pieces of paper, photos, and other little keepsakes into something worth keeping. Scrapbooking is a chance to play around with layouts and materials while making a page that actually feels like yours.

  1. Color Without a Deadline

There’s no inbox waiting for a colored page to be finished. Pick up the coloring materials and spend some time filling in the details at your own pace.

  1. Fold Some Origami

For something a little more hands-on, try origami. Folding a sheet of paper into something recognizable gives you a small project to focus on—and something to take home once you’re done.

  1. Bring Your Own Craft

Have a personal project that has been sitting unfinished? You can bring your own art materials to the sessions, provided you declare them upon entry for the issuance of a product pass. It’s a chance to finally give that half-done sketchbook, collage, or other project some attention.

Admission and materials provided for the sessions are free, with slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who want reminders and event guidelines can register through bit.ly/FBAnalogFridays; registration does not replace the first-come, first-served arrangement.

Analog Fridays runs every Friday from September 11 to October 9 at Hub A, third floor, Fully Booked High Street.
