Sony Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios have unveiled the chilling new trailer for Verity, offering moviegoers a deeply disturbing glimpse into one of the year’s most anticipated psychological thrillers.

Directed by Michael Showalter, the star-studded adaptation brings together Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett for a high-stakes story where truth and fiction bleed together.

The film centers on Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson), a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin who receives the opportunity of a lifetime. She is hired by Jeremy Crawford (Hartnett) to complete the remaining books of his wife’s acclaimed fantasy series after renowned author Verity Crawford (Hathaway) is left incapacitated following a mysterious accident.

To immerse herself in the work, Lowen relocates to the sprawling, isolated Crawford family home. But as she sifts through Verity’s cluttered study and unfinished notes, her routine ghostwriting job takes a sinister turn when she uncovers an unpublished, hidden autobiography—a manuscript containing horrifying confessions about Verity’s past, her marriage, and devastating family tragedies.

As Lowen reads deeper into Verity’s darkest thoughts, the atmosphere inside the Crawford home grows increasingly oppressive. The newly released trailer highlights the escalating psychological paranoia, teasing an intense tug-of-war as Lowen finds herself drawn to the grieving Jeremy while questioning whether the bedridden Verity is truly as helpless as she appears.
