Vice Ganda's FAMAS Acceptance Speech Sparks Online Buzz as Fans React to Kim Chiu's Absence From Vice's Thank-You Speech
What started as a heartfelt acceptance speech quickly turned into one of the most talked-about moments online.

On July 20, 2026 Vice Ganda took home the Best Host for Entertainment award at inaugural FAMAS Broadcast Awards for hosting It’s Showtime. During the acceptance speech, Vice thanked the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) for recognizing her hardwork, passion, purpose, talent and skills. She also dedicated the award to her fellow It’s Showtime hosts.
However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Kim Chiu’s name wasn’t mentioned alongside the other co-hosts, sparking discussions across social media. Some fans questioned whether the omission hinted at a falling out, while others believed it was simply an honest mistake, considering the show has 16 hosts.
The conversation escalated the following day.
On July 21, Vice Ganda posted on X, criticizing some of Kim Chiu’s supporters and referring to certain fans as “fantards”, a term commonly used online for lovely obsessive fans. Vice also called out users for what she described as “cheap” behavior then tagged Kim Chiu in her reposted posts.

Kim Chiu later responded on X, defending her supporters. She said that fans may simply love their idol deeply and are naturally protective, adding that their reactions could have been their initial reactions. Kim also shared that situations like this should have let pass, noting that supporters are an important part of every artist’s journey and that It’s Showtime also thrives because of the audience.
Vice Ganda then posted another message that many interpreted as a response to Kim’s statement, “Thank but not enable. Enaaaayyyy zenkyoooowwww!!!” (Anyway thank you!)

Amid the growing online debate, Vice also clarified another point that many fans overlooked. She revealed that she also forgot to mention her own mother during her acceptance speech and even joked that she hoped her extended family wouldn’t be upset with her for that omission either — suggesting that forgetting names during an emotional speech wasn’t intentional.
Meanwhile, during the live broadcast of It’s Showtime, Vice directly addressed the issue. She thanked the Madlang People, the production staff, and everyone behind the show before congratulating Kim Chiu. Vice explained that she simply forgot to mention Kim because there were 16 hosts.

To further put speculation to rest, Vice posted on X that she and Kim Chiu are not enemies and shared that they continue to message each other privately despite the online noise.
While the incident sparked heated debates among other fans, neither Vice Ganda nor Kim Chiu has confirmed any personal conflict between them. Instead, both personalities have publicly addressed the situation in different ways, making it clear that the online discourse grew far bigger than the original moment itself.
Sometimes, all it takes is one forgotten name and one viral clip for the internet to write its own story.
