After three years of growing up with the University Series, the final chapter brings its characters—and the fandom that followed them—back to where it all began.
At midnight, the Univerkada came together one last time as the USeries era was down to its last installation.
Three years after The Rain in España first brought Gwy Saludes’ University Series from page to screen, Viva One Plus dropped The Beginning of the End, the official primer for Our Yesterday’s Escape on September 4.

For a generation that has spent years watching LuKal, HiYa, ElVi, SaCly, ViArkin, ShaKierra, and the rest of the University Series grow alongside them, the release carried the weight of a finale even before the final chapter arrives.
The franchise has always marked time through its characters. We met Luna and Kalix through the stormy beginnings of young love, followed Archer through Safe Skies, Archer, ran with the characters of Chasing in the Wild, watched the facets of Avenues of the Diamond, and sat with the heartbreak of Golden Scenery of Tomorrow. Each installment arrived with its own world, but together, they became a record of a generation growing up.

Directed by Gino M. Santos, the primer trades the brighter, more behind the scene and process of making to execute youthful spaces of the earlier installments for the quieter corners of Yesterday’s Coffee, where Shan, played by Jairus Aquino, and Kierra are forced to reckon with what comes after the rush of young love.
That sense of history is reinforced by a cast that gives the finale a broader generational texture, with veterans including Angelu De Leon, Dominic Ochoa, and Yayo Aguila joining the younger leads. The result is a final chapter that feels increasingly aware of the years behind it and the lives that have accumulated across them.

Our Yesterday’s Escape arrives with the promise of an ending that carries everything that came before it—the romances, breakups, friendships, reunions, and all the versions of these characters the Univerkada has learned to love. After three years, leaving Yesterday behind may be the hardest part. But when the final chapter begins, the fandom will be there to see it through together.
